"Log in with my Facebook, Yahoo, Google or Twitter account" -- What does this mean?
The use of OpenID technology allows you to create and log in to an account by associating it with a website where you may already have an account.
We offer this service for Facebook, Google Apps, Google/Gmail, Yahoo and Twitter.
It's convenient. You don't have to create and remember yet another log in and password. If you're logged in to Facebook or Google, etc., you are automatically logged into your account as you come to our website.
Should you ever need to change your password, you just update your main accounts, and the log in to LearnThatWord still works the same way, without requiring additional password changes.
You don't. Ever.
This is how it works: Our website contacts Facebook (or any of the other OpenID providers) to ask if you're logged in. If Facebook confirms that, we let you into your account at LearnThatWord. We never see your external account passwords.
If you're logged out and are prompted to log in, you're doing so on Facebook's site. Again, we never see your password. After you log in, you're redirected to our site with a confirmation from Facebook that you are who you say you are. That's all.
We receive your email address and first and last name from Facebook, Google, Yahoo, and Google Apps. Facebook says on its confirmation screen that it may share basic profile information with us, but we don't request such data without your explicit permission.
It's just the default setting for their OpenID process.
Twitter sends us your user ID number only, not your email. If you would like to be able to reset your password, get help with your account, or receive program updates and special offers, please add your email when prompted on the account creation page.
Yes. During sign up you are asked if you already have a LearnThatWord account. We will suggest any account that is associated with the same email. If a match is not found, you can select "Let me enter it" and enter your LearnThat log in credentials.
Now you can log in both ways -- manually on our site or through OpenID.
Once your new account is created, you'll receive an email with a password for logging into your account directly. This is a computer generated code, so you might want to change. You can do this in the password area of your profile.
